The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation is also excited to welcome back, by popular demand, the CKHA Physician ‘Wine Servers’.
Introducing Chef Mike Ward
Beginning his cooking career at the bright-eyed age of 17 in Sydney, Australia, Mike never believed he would one-day prepare meals for such clientele as Julia Roberts, Tom Cruise, Bruce Willis and Nicole Kidman.
Mike has cooked in some of Sydney’s and Toronto’s most acclaimed restaurants and has owned and operated several catering companies over the years. Mike has led an eclectic culinary career to say the least. In early 2000, Mike expanded his creative pursuits beyond restaurants to include producing and directing award winning cooking/travel/lifestyle television shows that have been seen in over 47 countries [these include Healthy Gourmet, Look-a-Like, Mike Holmes – Make it Right and Unusually Thicke (Alan Thickes’ sitcom series)].
Mike has recently signed a TV development deal with a noted LA based production company and is in active TV series development. He has partnered to create a YouTube channel with KinCommunity.com. He is also about to begin contributing content to the LCBO. He regularly appears on Cityline and on-camera for various online outlets and brands. Mike is also involved in many charities including Dancing with Parkinsons.
He also recently began consulting with Centennial Colleges’ culinary department to create content, develop and guest instruct industry relevant culinary courses. Mike has also spent many years sharing his passion and skills through group and private cooking lessons allowing keen home cooks and foodies to develop their skills and eat their creations.
Mike’s personal passion remains finding solutions and working with organizations that can and are actualizing the concept of fair and accessible good quality food for people of all economic levels. Whether it be a quiet night at home teaching his two daughters how to use the “grown up” knives, in a foreign country directing a cooking series, or flying his beloved 2-seater aerobatic aircraft, Mikes insatiable appetite for food and adventure continues to drive him to explore and create. *Source: The Agency Group Ltd.

About the CKHA Diagnostic Imaging Equipment Renewal Campaign
As part of the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation’s directive to raise funds to support CKHA’s Highest Priority Needs, the $6.9 million CKHA Diagnostic Imaging Equipment Renewal Campaign was launched in late 2014 to support CKHA in the purchase of new equipment for CKHA’s Diagnostic Imaging Department.
Phase 1 of this campaign will focus on the purchase of a new Fluoroscopy System, a new CT Scan, new Ultrasound Equipment and a new Bone Densitometer for CKHA’s Diagnostic Imaging Department at the Chatham and Sydenham Campuses. These four key pieces of equipment serve almost every program offered at CKHA and are key for diagnoses in a multitude of cases, including heart, stroke, cancer, orthopedics, rehabilitation, obstetrics and gynecology, just to name a few.
To date, more than $3.1 million has been raised for this important campaign.
