Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation (CKHAF) is excited to announce the return of the Igniting Healthcare 50/50 FUNdraiser!
Last year’s 50/50 raised a total of $262,520, with lifelong friends Rick De Marse, Paul Ballay, and James Desjardins splitting the $131,260 jackpot. This marked the third straight year that the campaign awarded a jackpot in excess of $100,000.
“The Igniting Healthcare 50/50 has become an annual tradition that gets this community excited to raise funds for our hospital,” says Mary Lou Crowley, President and CEO of CKHAF. “This fundraiser has received support from across Chatham-Kent since day one. If we spark our community‘s interest, there’s no limit to how high the jackpot can grow. The more people that participate, the bigger it will get!”
Proceeds from this fundraiser will support the purchase of two new Pulmonary Function Test (PFT) units for Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA); one for each of the Chatham and Wallaceburg sites. These new PFT units are a high priority need for replacement at CKHA.
“PFT units are crucial in diagnosing a wide variety of respiratory and other health problems,” states Bob Hockney, Chair of the CKHAF Board of Directors. “While someone is sure to win a life-changing amount of money through this fundraiser, there will be many more winners among the patients at CKHA’s Chatham and Wallaceburg sites.”
The MCH family of companies, which includes Maple City Homes, MCH Realty Group, AgriRoots Capital Management Inc., and FamilyLending.ca Inc., is partnering with the Foundation as a sponsor of this fundraiser for the fourth consecutive year.
“We have been a sponsor of the Igniting Healthcare 50/50 FUNdraiser since the very beginning, and we are thrilled to partner with the Foundation once again this year,” says Robb Nelson, Founder and CEO of Maple City Homes, MCH Realty Group, AgriRoots Capital Management Inc., and FamilyLending.ca Inc. “We can’t wait to see how our amazing community comes out to support local healthcare in 2022.”
The Foundation will be out in all corners of Chatham-Kent throughout the campaign, with in-person ticket sales planned at locations across the community. Tickets can also be purchased at the Foundation office, located at 9 Ursuline Ave. in Chatham, and will be available for purchase online at www.ignite5050.ca starting at midnight on Monday, May 2nd.
The community is encouraged to follow the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation (@ckhafoundation) on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter for jackpot updates and information about upcoming in-person ticket sale locations.
This year’s draw will take place on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at 1:00 pm.
Tickets can only be purchased by Ontario residents over 18 years of age.
