COVID-19 Update #2
Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation (CKHAF) is committed to supporting the most critical and rapidly changing needs of our local hospital during this public health crisis. I wanted to take this opportunity to share with you, a valued member of our Foundation community, an update on how CKHAF is working with Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) to ensure they are able to continue their battle against COVID-19.
CKHA continues to take serious precautionary measures to keep their patients, staff and our community safe. These include:
- Implementation of further visitor restrictions
- Transition of the Surgical Day Care Unit into an additional inpatient space
- Reduction of non-urgent services
As the link between our community and CKHA, Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation is responsible for ensuring our hospital has the resources available to continue these efforts.
Without hesitation, Chatham-Kent has responded to our call for needed support.
On behalf of CKHAF, thank you for the amazing support we have received over the past two weeks of this pandemic crisis. Thanks to your support we have been able to provide life-saving equipment and protective gear to our front-line healthcare workers. This is having an incredible impact at CKHA.
We have been overwhelmed by the incredible offers from the community for the supply of goods and services. Companies and individuals have donated such things as personal protective equipment (PPE) for front-line staff, hand sanitizer, computer equipment/iPads to keep patients connected with family who are unable to visit, many meals for our nurses and physicians, and the list goes on……We are feeling truly inspired by this generosity.
In addition to the donations of goods and services, we have received incredible support through our COVID-19 Healthcare Relief Fund. Together, we have already raised over $58,000 to support CKHA and our Healthcare Heroes! We need to continue this incredible momentum to ensure we are able to keep up with the growing needs of our local hospital.
For this, I want to extend a huge thank you!
Many of our donors have expressed the motivation behind their generous donations, and I would like to share with you a message from one of our COVID-19 Healthcare Relief Fund donors to our front-line staff:
“Thank you, the words don’t express enough. But thank you for doing what you do everyday, to care for all of us. Stay safe and well”
We understand many individuals and businesses have been affected by this pandemic, and are currently facing challenging financial situations. If you are able to make a contribution to this campaign, CKHAF needs your support now more than ever.
Together, we can make it through this pandemic.
