COVID-19 Update #4: President & CEO Mary Lou Crowley

COVID-19 Update #4

As Chatham-Kent continues to navigate through the COVID-19 pandemic, our Healthcare Heroes on the front lines have received remarkable support through the generosity of our community. Together, we have not only lifted their spirits with words of encouragement and gratitude, but have raised over $150,000 to ensure they have the necessary equipment and supplies to provide the safest and best possible care to all Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) patients.

I am extremely grateful to live and work in a community so committed to giving back. I want to thank everyone who has made a contribution to our COVID-19 Healthcare Relief Fund – your donations are making a difference for our hospital and healthcare team.

I would like to share a message from Chatham-Kent Health Alliance President & CEO, Lori Marshall:

“On behalf of CKHA, our physicians, and the entire staff team, I would like to thank Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation for the incredible work being done through the COVID-19 Healthcare Relief Fund. This support has helped to put CKHA in the best position possible to handle this global pandemic.

With funds raised through the Foundation’s COVID-19 Healthcare Relief Fund, we have been able to purchase needed equipment including a Noco Sprayer, HEPA Filter, and 10 Vital Sign Monitors; which are all currently in use.

CKHA has been fortunate so far to have treated a relatively low number of cases in comparison to neighboring communities, however, our situation is changing daily and an acute surge in cases is still a very real possibility.
We need to continue implementing proactive measures so that we are fully prepared for whatever comes our way, and community support is critical to the success of our efforts.”

Lori Marshall, President & CEO, CKHA

As Lori has outlined, the needs of our hospital remain urgent. If you are able, please consider making a donation to our COVID-19 Healthcare Relief Fund.

Donate Now

We are proud to be participating in the upcoming #GivingTuesdayNow initiative on May 5, 2020 – a global day of giving. This fundraising event was created in response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19 to support communities and nonprofits around the world. Join us by completing an act of kindness, whether it be paying it forward, sharing a positive message, or making a donation to our COVID-19 Healthcare Relief Fund to help front-line staff at CKHA.

Words of Gratitude from our Donors

“I cannot imagine a better way to honour the first anniversary of my Dad’s passing. He would be so pleased to know that these funds will help keep the amazing CKHA health team safe, the same team that provided him with such great care. Stay safe. So appreciative of your dedication and commitment to the community, true heroes!”

We must remain vigilant during this time to flatten the curve within Chatham-Kent. Please stay home, stay safe, and continue practicing physical distancing. For information on best practices to stop the spread, visit CK Public Health’s website.

Together, WE WILL emerge a stronger and healthier community.
