COVID-19 Update #6
From all corners of Chatham-Kent, the community has come together to show their support for local healthcare. Despite the physical distancing measures in place, we have managed to stay connected as a community. Together, we have raised almost $300,000 for the COVID-19 Healthcare Relief Fund. This is incredibly heartwarming.
The strength and courage of Chatham-Kent has been undeniable in the face of adversity. It has been truly inspiring to receive donations from all areas of Chatham-Kent throughout these unprecedented times.

Restoration of Hospital Services
Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) has announced the reintroduction of some surgeries, procedures, services and programs, given that the number of COVID-19 positive patients remains low in Chatham-Kent. With the earliest return of some services beginning on June 1st, this plan includes a phased approach to gradually re-introduce surgery and endoscopy with enabling services in medicine, diagnostics and ambulatory care. Further restoration of full service will be gradual and incremental going forward. Patients will be notified of opportunities to reschedule surgeries and other appointments accordingly. This is only a start and our support for front-line workers remains critical.
Thank You 99.1 CKXS!
The 99.1 CKXS ALL-IN Radio Auction was a tremendous success, raising $28,000 for our COVID-19 Healthcare Relief Fund. Thank you to all who participated in this fundraising initiative. This would not have been possible without the many individuals and businesses who donated such incredible experiences and prizes, and of course, Greg Hetherington and CKXS who organized and hosted the auction! It was truly inspiring to see such a great response from the community in such a short amount of time. Way to go Chatham-Kent!
In honor of Paramedic Services Week, we’d like to express our sincere gratitude to Chatham-Kent EMS for working on the front-lines and continuing to provide such high-quality pre-hospital clinical care throughout this pandemic and always. We are especially thankful for your efforts at this time and recognize your commitment and dedication as you work to keep our community safe.

A very special group from the Seventh Day Adventist Church community recently donated $1,000 in support of our COVID-19 Healthcare Relief Fund. The community members pictured here are also staff members at CKHA! Thank you for your thoughtful gift and your commitment to local healthcare.
The Chatham-Kent Sikh Community has shown their commitment to local healthcare with a $10,000 donation towards the COVID-19 Healthcare Relief Fund. This tremendous contribution is greatly appreciated and we are grateful to experience such remarkable kindness from our community.
Recently, Progressive Ford in Wallaceburg generously donated face shields to the CKHA Wallaceburg site. This personal protective equipment is keeping our front-line workers safe as they remain dedicated to providing the best care possible to all CKHA patients.
We are truly grateful to live and work in such a generous community. I’d like to extend a heartfelt thanks to all of our donors, our volunteers, our healthcare heroes, and our entire community. Your continued support is getting us through these uncertain times.
Together, WE WILL emerge a stronger and healthier community.
