COVID-19 Update #7: A Message From President & CEO Mary Lou Crowley

COVID-19 Update #7
The generosity in the last few weeks has been unlike anything we’ve ever seen before. Thank you Chatham-Kent for coming together in support of our hospital and our Healthcare Heroes. The COVID-19 Healthcare Relief Fund has now raised $300,000. I am so profoundly grateful.
With incredible support from local Service Clubs, community organizations, local businesses, and individual donors, we have been able to keep our patients and staff protected at CKHA during COVID-19. Thank you to our healthcare heroes who have remained committed to keeping our community safe and are working to provide the best quality healthcare possible. Thank you Chatham-Kent for staying strong and staying positive!

Wallaceburg Drive-Thru COVID-19 Testing
Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) has partnered with Chatham-Kent EMS and CK Public Health to support greater access for the residents of Wallaceburg and area to receive a COVID-19 test. On Thursday June 11, Friday June 12, and Saturday June 13 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. anyone who believes they require a COVID-19 swab test can go to CKHA’s Wallaceburg Site where a mobile drive-thru testing clinic will be in operation. This testing initiative will also be available to residents who do not arrive in a vehicle. For more information clickhere.

We recently received a very generous $10,000 donation through the Greenfield Cares Fund on behalf of Greenfield Global, in support of our COVID-19 Healthcare Relief Fund. We are truly grateful for this contribution from our community as we know it will make a positive impact on local healthcare.   For more information, click here.

Over the past few weeks, our friends at Grace & Lily’s Attic and Empower Everyday have customized hundreds of t-shirts for various departments at the hospital in hopes of raising the spirits of our Healthcare Heroes. This creative fundraising initiative has certainly put a smile behind the masks of these workers. They have also kindly donated a portion of the funds raised from their t-shirt sales in support of our Healthcare Heroes at CKHA. Thank you for your thoughtfulness and dedication to supporting healthcare in our community!

Golf courses are now open and are able to host tournaments!  We are excited to share that registration for our 15th Annual Pro/Am Golf Tournament presented by Entegrus is once again OPEN!

As the health and safety of our guests is our top priority, this year’s tournament will look a bit different to ensure all necessary physical distancing measures are in place.

While we’re not out of the woods yet, I believe we will look back on this time with tremendous pride for the courage, generosity, and resilience that we shared as a community. We never gave up hope that we would succeed and thrive. For this, I am profoundly grateful and privileged to belong to this amazing community.

Together, WE WILL emerge a stronger and healthier community.

Sincerely,

Mary Lou
