CHATHAM, ON (Tuesday, July 8, 2014): On Tuesday, July 8, 2014, representatives from Dowler-Karn Ltd. presented a cheque to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation (CKHA) in the amount of $2,000, representing the proceeds from their BBQ Build-Off and Open House held on Saturday, June 7, 2014, at their St. Clair Street (Highway 40) location in Chatham. An additional $500 was raised at the event through donations and food sales. Proceeds from this event will support CKHA’s most urgent capital equipment needs.
BBQ Build-Off and Open House
At this event, three teams of two participated in a BBQ Build-Off. The first team to complete their BBQ was father-son team, Tom and Thomas McKeon, who were named the winners of the Build-Off and awarded a new Crown™ 10 Broil King BBQ courtesy of Dowler-Karn.
Dowler-Karn also provided a bouncy castle and face-painting for kids; BBQ demonstrations by the Broil King BBQ team; an antique propane truck, Dig R Wright and and UMP Modified Dirt Track race cars as well as hamburgers and hotdogs, supplied by Roesch Meats.
At the Open House, Dowler-Karn also offered discounted BBQ propane tank refills and prize draw tickets for a VIA Rail round-trip for two to Toronto, including accommodations, courtesy of Blackburn Radio Inc.
