Portuguese Canadian Social Club of Chatham donates $3,000 for a new baby bassinet

CHATHAM ON – January 21, 2020 the Portuguese Canadian Social Club of Chatham presented a $14,000 cheque to multiple local charities, $3,000 of which was given to Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation (CKHAF) to purchase a new baby bassinet for Chatham-Kent Health Alliance’s Women and Children’s Department. Other beneficiaries included TJ Stables’ “Acceptional” Riders Program and three local soup kitchens.

The funds were raised through the club’s annual Our Lady of Fatima Festival, comprising of skeet shooting, a soccer tournament, parade celebrations, mass, dinner, and a dance, which took place back in June of 2019.

For over 40 years the club has been organising this event for the Chatham-Kent community to enjoy free of charge. Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation is proud to be one of the proceed recipients, and the team is looking forward to attending the event next year!
