Last year, when the Foundation’s 17th Annual Charity Golf Tournament, presented by Entegrus, raised a record-setting total of $110,340 in support of our local hospital, that event set a remarkable precedent based on the incredible generosity and philanthropic culture here in Chatham-Kent. To have raised over $100,000 through a one-day golf tournament is truly a great achievement, and one that requires a significant amount of community support. It also set a very high bar for 2023.
I am very pleased to say that the 18th Annual Charity Golf Tournament, presented by Entegrus, not only lived up to the lofty expectations set in 2022, but actually far surpassed them! This year’s tournament raised a record-breaking total of $131,245 towards the purchase of an Operating Room Surgical Table with Bariatric Extensions for CKHA!
This tournament was a remarkable testament to what we can accomplish when we work together towards a common goal. The list is simply too long to write here. THANK YOU to our golfers, who made this year’s tournament another unforgettable, fun-filled day. I really hope that you had as much fun as we did! And THANK YOU to our volunteers, including our Tournament Planning Committee, led by John Schinkel, as well as all of our other day-of volunteers who help the tournament run smoothly.
It is so crucial for CKHA’s Operating Room to be equipped with updated, accessible Surgical Tables to accommodate a wide variety of patients from across Chatham-Kent, and the overwhelming success of this tournament will help make that possible. It really is such an honour to be a part of a fundraiser that has achieved record-breaking success in back-to-back years, and I know that our golfers, partners, and volunteers all feel the same way. We certainly couldn’t have done any of this without them. And without YOU, we woudn’t be where we are today!
