CHATHAM, ON (Wednesday July 13, 2016) The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation (CKHA) is pleased to announce that the Optimist Club of Chatham has made a donation of $4,000 to the CKHA Diagnostic Imaging Equipment Renewal Campaign. These funds were raised at their recent golf tournament held on June 26, 2016.
“We are so grateful for this generous donation from the Optimist Club of Chatham,” says Michele Grzebien-Huckson, Executive Director, Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation. “This contribution has provided a boost to our efforts to raise $6.9 million for the CKHA Diagnostic Imaging Equipment Renewal Campaign and has brought us one step closer to bringing necessary new state-of-the-art equipment to our community.”
Golf Tournament Chair, Greg Beatty, and Club President Jeff Malicki were pleased to be able to support the campaign. “Our club wanted to support this important campaign in our community. Our members know how vital this equipment is to our local hospital. The Optimist Club of Chatham, which has been in existence for 35+ years, is a non-profit organization. Our members and volunteers raise funds through running bingos, selling food and refreshments from our fry wagon and hosting events such as a golf tournament. These funds are used to both promote and support a variety of youth and community events within our community.”
About the CKHA Diagnostic Imaging Equipment Renewal Campaign
As part of the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation’s directive to raise funds to support CKHA’s Highest Priority Needs, the $6.9 million CKHA Diagnostic Imaging Equipment Renewal Campaign was launched in late 2014 to support CKHA in the purchase of new equipment for the Diagnostic Imaging Department.
This new diagnostic imaging equipment will serve almost every program offered at CKHA and is key for diagnoses in a multitude of cases, including heart, stroke, cancer, orthopedics, rehabilitation, obstetrics and gynecology, just to name a few.
To date, more than $3,910,715.74 million has been raised for this important campaign.
