Dialysis Treatment Chair

A new Dialysis Treatment Chair was purchased through memorial donations made in honour of Joan Peltier, along with generous gifts and fundraising efforts of the Peltier family. This new chair provides improved comfort and adjustability for dialysis patients, and will have such a significant impact for years to come. In fact, through the support of our community, the Foundation was proud to fund the purchase of eleven more chairs like this one, to ensure that all of our hospital’s dialysis patients enjoy the comfort that they deserve.

OR Surgical Table with Bariatric Extensions

Proceeds from our 18th Annual Charity Golf tournament supported the purchase of a new Operating Room (OR) Surgical Table with Bariatric Extensions for CKHA. OR Surgical Tables are used daily for all surgical procedures within each of CKHA’s six OR suites, and the inclusion of Bariatric Extensions will assist with the growing number of procedures performed on larger patients who require more physical body support.

Sterrad Sterilization Unit

Proceeds from the 2023 Igniting Healthcare 50/50 FUNdraiser supported the purchase of a new Sterrad Unit, which is used to sterilize all medical equipment. As a result, it will serve all patients that visit the hospital for any type of procedure. The Sterrad Unit utilizes hydrogen peroxide gas plasma (HPGP) rather than traditional steam, prolonging the life of vital medical equipment. The Unit increases sterilization turnaround times, and helps support the sterilization of CKHA’s increasing fleet of ENT scopes.

ORTHO VISION - Swift Analyzer

Proceeds from the 18th annual Parade of Chefs supported the purchase of an ORTHO VISION – Swift Analyzer for CKHA. This analyzer helps CKHA’s Laboratory Transfusion Medicine Department automate a wide variety of tests, allowing the Laboratory to provide safe and compatible blood for CKHA patients. This automated platform frees up Lab Techs to focus more time on critical work. The platform completes testing more efficiently than the manual method, resulting in reduced turnaround time for tests.
