CKHA Foundation Appoints New Board Member

Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation (CKHAF) is honoured to welcome Dr. Dennis Atoe as the newest member of its Board of Directors. As a member of the CKHAF Board, Dr. Atoe will join current Board members in voluntarily overseeing the Foundation’s mission to lead the way in philanthropy by connecting the communities of Chatham-Kent in support of high quality healthcare at our local hospital sites.

“We are thrilled to introduce Dr. Atoe as the newest member of the CKHAF Board of Directors, as his wealth of experience in the healthcare and business sectors will bring an invaluable perspective and a unique expertise to the Board,” stated Bob Hockney, Chair of CKHAF’s Board of Directors. “We work diligently year-round to ensure that the Foundation Board and leadership are made up of local industry experts with stellar reputations across a wide variety of fields, and this makes Dr. Atoe an excellent fit along with our current group of Board members.”

Dr. Atoe currently serves as the Owner and Medical Director of IMOSE MĂ©dica Esthetics, as well as the President and CEO of Atoe Integrated Ventures Ltd. With decades of experience in the medical field, he previously served as the Chief of Family Medicine at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) from 2011 to 2018. He is also the current Medical Director for Fairfield Park Nursing Home and the Wallaceburg Retirement Residence. Dr. Atoe also serves as a Wallaceburg Physician on the Chatham-Kent Family Health Team (CKFHT), and possesses Board experience from his former role as Lead Physician for CKFHT.

In addition to appointing Dr. Atoe as a member of the CKHAF Board of Directors, the Foundation is also proud to welcome Jason Gillett as a Community Member at Large on the Board’s Governance & Nominating Committee.

A life-long Chatham-Kent resident, Jason currently serves in the role of Director, Gas Supply for Enbridge Gas Inc. With two decades of experience in the field, Jason possesses considerable expertise in the areas of strategic planning, governance, operations, project management, and regulatory affairs.

“On behalf of the Board, we are also honoured to welcome Jason as a Community Member at Large on our Governance & Nominating Committee,” said Hockney. “Jason’s decades of experience and unique skillset will certainly complement our current Board members in helping accomplish the mission and vision of the Foundation in its role as the link between our community and its hospital.”

The Foundation also recognizes Tom Kewley, who retired from the Board at their Annual General Meeting on June 20th. Tom will join the Foundation’s Ambassador Club, which is comprised of former Board members.

“Tom has always demonstrated his strong commitment and dedication to the Foundation and to local healthcare here in Chatham-Kent,” stated Hockney, “and we are so grateful for his years of service.”
