CKHA Foundation Ready to Ignite Healthcare Once Again!

Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation (CKHAF) announces the return of the Igniting Healthcare 50/50 FUNdraiser, and tickets for what has become Chatham-Kent’s biggest 50/50 Lottery will go on sale May 20th.

Last year’s raffle raised a total of $345,740, surpassing its own record from the previous year for the largest online charitable 50/50 lottery in Southwestern Ontario, and made Emily Geroux from Highgate $172,870 dollars richer.

“The Igniting Healthcare 50/50 provides a really exciting opportunity to raise funds for our hospital” says Mary Lou Crowley, President & CEO of Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation. “We have been so blessed to have such incredible support from our community – it really is the community who makes this campaign so successful.” Adds Crowley.

Proceeds from this year’s fundraiser will support cardiac care at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) through the purchase of new Electrocardiograph machines for both the Chatham and Wallaceburg sites.

“Cardiac health effects so many people in our community, and they rely on having the best equipment available when they need it most” says Greg Hetherington, Board Chair, Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation. “Regardless of who takes home this year’s jackpot, the real winner will be the patients at CKHA.” He added.

Maple City Homes has partnered with the Foundation since the very first Igniting Healthcare 50/50 FUNdraiser, and are now participating for the third consecutive year.

“We feel a great sense of pride at Maple City Homes to be continuing our partnership with the Igniting Healthcare 50/50.” Said Robb Nelson, President, Maple City Homes. “Supporting our hospital and our community is something that we are very passionate about.” Adds Nelson.

Pending Provincial lockdown measures, the Foundation plans to be out in the community once again for in-person ticket sales with locations in Blenheim, Chatham, Dresden, Erieau, Ridgetown, Tilbury, and Wallaceburg, as well as new locations this year in Thamesville and Wheatley. Tickets are also available online, along with real-time tracking of the constantly growing jackpot at www.ignite5050.ca.

This year’s draw will take place on Thursday August 5, 2021, 1:00pm at the Foundation office.

Tickets can only be purchased by Ontario residents over 18 years of age. Regular jackpot updates will be posted on the Foundation’s social media accounts throughout the sales period up to the day of the draw.
