CKHA Foundation set to Ignite Healthcare with the return of 50/50 FUNdraiser on Wednesday, May 24th

Excitement is growing across our community as Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation’s (CKHAF) annual Igniting Healthcare 50/50 FUNdraiser, sponsored by MCH Homes, is set for launch at 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 24th.

Last year’s 50/50 raised a total of $253,680, with Chatham native Mike Veres and his wife Wendy taking home the $126,840 jackpot. Since its inception in 2019, this fundraiser has raised over $1 million in total ticket sales, awarding a jackpot in excess of $100,000 in each of the past four years.

“Since launching this 50/50 back in 2019, we’ve been absolutely blown away by the overwhelming support that it has received from across Chatham-Kent every single year,” says Mary Lou Crowley, President and CEO of CKHAF. “We can’t wait to introduce some exciting new elements into this year’s draw, including three amazing Early Bird prizes, to help us Ignite Healthcare in Chatham-Kent even more in 2023. There’s no telling how high the jackpot will get, and this could be your year to win it!”

For the first time ever, this year’s Igniting Healthcare 50/50 FUNdraiser will include three Early Bird draws, with great prizes to be awarded throughout the campaign.

The first Early Bird draw for a $1,000.00 cash prize will take place on Friday, June 2nd at the CKHAF office (9 Ursuline Ave, Chatham). The second Early Bird draw for a Broil King Keg Charcoal Smoker/BBQ will take place on Friday, June 16th at Chatham-Kent Home Hardware Building Centre (124 Keil Dr S, Chatham). The third Early Bird draw for a Pelican Magna 100 Packaged 1-Person Kayak will take place on Friday, June 30th at the Wallaceburg Canadian Tire (74 McNaughton Ave, Wallaceburg).

Anyone who purchases a ticket prior to 2:00 p.m. on these draw dates will automatically be entered into the Early Bird draws, and Early Bird prize winners will still be eligible to win the grand prize jackpot.
The grand prize draw will take place on Wednesday, July 12th at 1:00pm, with proceeds from the fundraiser supporting the purchase of a Sterrad Unit for Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA).

“The new Sterrad Unit will be used to sterilize medical equipment and, as a result, it will serve all patients that visit the hospital for any type of procedure.” states Bob Hockney, Chair of the CKHAF Board of Directors. “Our community always steps up to support the purchase of crucial equipment at CKHA, and this year’s Igniting Healthcare 50/50 FUNdraiser is shaping up to be another great example of the way that Chatham-Kent comes together to support local healthcare.”

CKHAF is proud to have the support of MCH Homes once again for this year’s Igniting Healthcare 50/50 FUNdraiser. As a strong supporter of this 50/50 since the very beginning, MCH Homes has been integral to the campaign’s success in raising funds to support the purchase of life-saving hospital equipment over the past four years.

Four ticket pricing options are available for this year’s campaign, as community members can choose to purchase 10 numbers for $10.00, 60 numbers for $20.00, 200 numbers for $50.00, or for best value, 350 numbers for $75.00.

The Foundation will be out in all corners of Chatham-Kent throughout the campaign, with in-person ticket sales planned at locations across the community. Tickets can also be purchased at the CKHAF office (9 Ursuline Ave, Chatham), Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and will be available for purchase online at www.ignite5050.ca starting at 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 24th.

The community is also encouraged to follow the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation (@ckhafoundation) on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter for jackpot updates and information about upcoming in-person ticket sale locations.

The grand prize draw on July 12th will take place at the new MCH Homes office located at 785 St Clair St in Chatham.

Tickets can only be purchased by Ontario residents over 18 years of age.
