CKHA Teams Up With Chatham-Kent EMS for Seasonal Care Clinic

Now that winter is wrapping up and spring is just around the corner, we’d like to celebrate with you the success of a temporary seasonal care clinic that operated at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance over the past four months.

CKHA teamed up with Chatham-Kent EMS to provide the clinical service out of a mobile trailer outside of CKHA’s Emergency Department in Chatham and has REDUCED EMERGENCY ROOM WAIT TIMES BY 15-20%!

OVER 1,000 PATIENTS suffering from aches, sore throats, fever, and cough were seen by medical staff 7X FASTER than the typical ER wait times, and the service has had a very positive impact on hospital operations.

BECAUSE OF YOU, GREAT THINGS HAPPEN HERE.

Donate to CKHAF today to help enhance patient-centred care at our local hospital. Your generosity will make a profound difference in the lives of our patients, our familes, and our friends. Together, we are growing a healthier community!

“Individuals going to the seasonal clinic typically experience a turnaround from the point of registration to having been seen between 30 and 45 minutes,” said Caen Suni, Clinical Programs & Operations at CKHA. “The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. People appreciate the short wait time, and they are pleased with the quality of care.”

During the busiest week, more than 125 patients were cared for.

The seasonal clinic freed up space in the Emergency Department during the seasonal surge of cold, flu, and respiratory illness by providing care for residents who don’t have a primary care provider like a family doctor or can’t be seen by their family doctor or a nurse practitioner when they need to.

By working together, this is one example of how CKHA is growing a healthier community.

BECAUSE WE CARE.
