At their Annual General Meeting (AGM) in June, Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation (CKHAF) representatives were thrilled to report a total of $643,894 in approved funding to Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) from April 1st, 2023 to March 31st, 2024.
“This success is a testament to the dedication and generosity of our wonderful community, and we want to thank all of the supporters and champions of our Foundation who have helped us not only meet but exceed expectations through our fundraising efforts over the past year,” said Christine Mitchell, CKHAF President & CEO. “It means the world to us to be able to make such a profound investment in our hospital across so many units and programs, and we celebrate the lives impacted, the programs enhanced, and the community connections strengthened along the way.”
Funding from the 2023/24 fiscal year has been invested in equipment, facility upgrades, and program innovation across a wide range of units and programs at CKHA’s Chatham and Wallaceburg sites, including Dialysis, Mental Health & Addictions, Operating Room, Women & Children’s, Rehabilitation, Urology, Diagnostic Imaging, the Oncology/Cancer Clinic, and more. During the June AMG, CKHAF was also delighted to welcome three new members to its Board of Directors:  Kaleena Cryderman, Mary Rule, and Satinder Singh Chopra. These three new members of the CKHAF Board will join current Board members in voluntarily overseeing the Foundation’s mission to lead the way in philanthropy by connecting the communities of Chatham-Kent in support of high-quality healthcare at our local hospital sites.

“We are thrilled to introduce Kaleena, Mary and Satinder as the newest members of the CKHAF Board of Directors, and we welcome their unique perspectives and expertise to our organization,” stated Bob Hockney, Chair of CKHAF’s Board of Directors. “We strive to ensure that the Foundation Board and leadership are comprised of community members with stellar reputations across a wide variety of fields in our community, and these new additions will be a wonderful fit. All three of them will be invaluable as we seek to carry out our mission in support of local healthcare in the years ahead.”
