Ed – Wallaceburg

My name is Ed and as a life-long resident of Chatham-Kent, I am asking for your support. With your help, we can improve the quality of life for residents, like myself, who require orthopedic surgery such as knee or hip replacements.

As an avid athlete, I started a successful badminton career in 1964, playing in several Ontario and Canada Opens. I also passed on my passion for the sport by coaching badminton at local high schools for over 15 years.

I began to experience constant pain in my knee, which affected my quality of life, including my ability to walk. What I found to be the most disheartening was that I could no longer play golf—one of my greatest passions.

I met with Dr. Stone, an Orthopedic Surgeon at CKHA, and was quickly scheduled for knee replacement surgery.

My pain quickly subsided once the procedure was complete. I felt like my old self again. Simple tasks that seemed impossible before were no longer a problem.  I returned to the golf course at least once a week and found I was playing even better than before.

We are fortunate to have such a high-performing orthopedic surgery program right here in Chatham-Kent to support the high demand for these types of procedures in our community.
