Jim’s Story

There is a mental health and addiction crisis in Chatham-Kent. We need your help.

Your donation will support vital services provided by the Mental Health & Addictions Program at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA), including the development of a 10-bed Withdrawal Management program.

Withdrawal Management saves lives. It is a recovery-oriented approach to drug and alcohol addiction that enables safe withdrawal from substances, leading to further addictions treatment.

The Withdrawal Management unit will operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in the former outpatient mental health services building in Zone F. The Rapid Access to Addiction Medicine (RAAM) clinic will also re-locate here once renovations are complete.

“The mental health crisis in Chatham-Kent has grown worse throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. For the good of our community and those we love the most, the new Withdrawal Management and other services offered by the Mental Health & Addictions program at CKHA are of the utmost importance in combatting this local crisis.” – Dr. Dele Oyebode – CKHA Chief of Psychiatry
